I’m not too sure, myself, but Anne and I planned some stuff that involved Carp’s characters, so that would be a problem since she’s going on hiatus :/. If everyone wants to, the people who have time can come up with a new RP that’s apart from the current one…that’s all I can think of right now.

Yeah idk either man i mean i’d like to do something but idk what snort

“Little mouse, are you interested in Libra?”

Gemini’s question came rather sudden. He rarely interrupted their training to talk to her, let alone personal matters like this. Why did he even care? Yes, they came to understand and respect each other during those few months- she could even say he became a friend, even though they still quarrelled quite often, especially about his “habits” when it came to woman.

She had made it quite clear that, after that time he kissed her, she wouldn’t let him come any nearer to her. Which didn’t mean he had stopped trying. He seemed to gain pleasure in seeing her get flustered or angry, even though that didn’t happen as often as he wished to. Gemini gave up since a couple of weeks ago though, and she couldn’t find out why. And now a question like this…Why?

Perhaps…

——————

The other male, Libra - her “Master”, as she mockingly called him, had come to check up on her a couple of times. Other than that, he didn’t show up often. It was only natural, since he was the leader here. He’d most likely be busy.

She had noticed though, how he sometimes looked so… distant. As if he where thinking about something from a long time ago, happier times that he had lost. She knew that look all too well, it was often apparent in Gemini’s eyes as well. It had sparked her interest- what would be the reason they looked like that?

One night, she got the order from Gemini to sneak into someone’s room when they where asleep, and steal something of their belongings then give it to him. She had no idea what had gotten into her, but Kiffa had picked the presumable hardest target: the master, Libra himself. Expecting him to wake up at the slightest sound, she had managed to sneak into his room in he dark, even reaching his bedside. He hadn’t even flinched a bit, yet she was sure her movements weren’t quite as gracious and soundless as they where supposed to be.

It appeared that she had been lucky, and that he just happened to be a deep sleeper.

And that’s when Kiffa had tried something extremely risky:

she started untying the little hair tie of Libra. Her hands had been sweating, trembling, and at some point, her hand shortly brushed along Libra’s cheek.

…rry…

Startled, she had quickly pulled back, taking a step back. Perhaps he was on the verge of waking up. If he would, and he’d find her here, she would get punished hard by Gemini for sure. Leaving, picking any other victim, would have been the best idea.

…But she hadn’t. It had been fascinating, to see the usually expressionless face of the libra so relaxed, so satisfied.

“…Sorry…”

The male had muttered again, his hand reaching for… something. On an impulse, Kiffa gently took his hand in hers. His grip was surprisingly firm, yet gentle.

“…I’m so sorry…”

She could study his expression more closely now. Relaxed didn’t fit the description anymore. It was… pained. Worried. Troubled. Sad. She could swear there was a tear in the corner of his eyes, but that seemed foolish. A mafia leader like him… There would be no way he’d cry. Her lips moved on it’s own when she quietly whispered;

You don’t have to be sorry. It’s not your fault.”

As soon as she spoke those words, Kiffa knew that it must be true. Libra wasn’t a bad man at all. He had saved her life, given her a place to stay, work, and a decent training. It was dangerous business, but so had her life before been. He was… indeed the man that saved her. He wasn’t even rude to her. Just indifferent perhaps. But as a leader, you couldn’t afford to have any feelings towards others- it was only a weakness, that was what Gemini had told her. One of the first things she learned. One that she had always doubted, too.

His grip upon her hand had somewhat loosened, hearing those words. Maybe, maybe he had smiled at them. But it was dark so it had been hard to tell.

After that, she had rushed back to her room, taking a random statue in his room in the end.

The next day, Gemini hadn’t praised her, but scolded her for picking such an easy victim. ‘You could have done better than that, little mouse. Go pick someone else this night.’

Nevertheless, Kiffa had returned three times to Libra’s room after that, curious to find out what else he’d say in his sleep. But all she had got out of him where apologies, and as soon as she had comforted him, he seemed to return to his deep slumber.

But the last time, just when she had pulled her hand back, there was a soft mutter leaving his lips. A name.

“Yui…”

It had bothered ever since then. Yui. Who could this person be, that he had such… nightmares? About her. It was most alarming.

————

So, when Gemini had asked her that sudden question, Kiffa countered it with a blunt;

“Have you ever heard of a certain ‘Yui’?”

Gemini seemed surpised for a second, but quickly regained his composure and answered her curious gaze with a stoïc face.

“Why do you ask, little mouse~?” He spoke softly, but the words sounded more like hissing to her than anything else. It was then that she noticed the pain and sadness in his eyes. Did she cross a line here? It seemed like that. But she was stubborn. She wouldn’t let him scare her. She wanted to know.

“I heard the master mention it.”

“… I see.”

There was a short silence for a moment.

“…You’ve been visiting Libra’s room at night, haven’t you?”

How did he know-?

“…And what if I have?”

Her cheeks flushed red at the thought of being caught, sneaking around at night, visiting his room. If Libra found out…

Gemini chuckled, answering her thoughts as if she had spoken them aloud.

“I won’t tell anyone. My, he’s a charming man. I should’ve known there was a reason why you didn’t go in to my advanc-“

“YOU’RE WRONG!” Her face coloured an even deeper shade of red at the false assumption. False indeed. Being fascinated was something entirely different than liking someone.

“Alright, alright.” Her outburst seemed to amuse him even more, but he didn’t say anything further about it. Then, he sighed. “Do you want to know who this Yui is?”

“…Yes.”

“…If I tell you, you may never talk about it with anyone, little mouse. You know that, right? And if you are planning to use it against us…” He let the silence linger on, and it was very clear to her what he meant with it.

“I know. I won’t tell anyone. Promise.” Gemini had become a person she trusted the past months. He knew everything about her, just like Libra did. It was most unlikely she would do anything to hurt them. And even if she wanted to, there was no way she ever could.

“Please, tell me about Yui.”

….just a little stray cat. I want you to meet her. I’ll see you in a bit.

Kiffa had been conscious for a while, overhearing the female’s- no, male- conversation with his, what it sounded like to her, inferior. Friend even, perhaps? She hadn’t moved an inch ever since she woke up but had the impression that this man knew very well that she was awake.

” So, miss Kiffa.”

A little shocked, her eyes opened at the sound of his pleasant voice near her ear. When did he even got this close? She hadn’t heard a thing, and was sure he had been on the phone only a second ago. Wait- more importantly…

How did he know her name?

” It’s easy for me to gain information like that.” He continued with a flat voice, as if it was no big deal that he just read her thoughts. “Currently 15 years old, left her parental home when she was 12. No other close relatives, no real friends either. Makes a living as a thief, mostly pickpocketing. Until a few weeks ago, is it not?”

The male quirked an eyebrow, as if he were amused at the fact that she only just started    lending her services. As if he knew that she had screwed up quite a few times. She hated it. Hated that look. -You really can’t do anything right, can you?-

“Who are you?!”

Kiffa hissed, a lot more snarky than she intended it to be. This man wasn’t someone she could mess with. Not at all.

Unaffected by the vicious tone, he just replied; “Who I am? Your new employee, you could say. Or even better, the man that saved your life?”

Ah… So it had been him after all. Her expression softened a bit, realising that she owed this person a lot. A little gratitude was probably just in place.

“Why would you want me to work for you? Suggesting the tone in your voice, you don’t seem to impressed by my qualities?”

…Not, then. Her emotions always had been hard to control, even for her. Combined with a foul mouth… yeah.

The teal-haired male still didn’t even flinch at her harsh words. If he expected something of her, then he seemed fairly unimpressed so far. Just when he was about to reply, there was a knock on the door.

A tall, handsome male entered the room. Blue, curly hair combined with glasses and a decent looking suit. Handsome, just like the man next to her. What would two handsome men like them want with a boring little mouse like her?

“Ah, Gemini. Took you long enough.”

‘Gemini’ smiled, brushing off the underlying question with a “Sorry, I wasn’t fully dressed yet.” His voice was used to lying and cheating. When he got closer to her, she could smell the perfume of a woman, and noticed a faint mark of lipstick on his neck. The reason why he hadn’t been fully dressed was quite obvious, and he didn’t even seem to care. Kiffa immediately despised him. He looked like someone who know how handsome he was, and was arrogant enough to make use of it. Someone who would break other people’s heart in an instant. To put it simply, a jerk.

Gemini’s eyes wandered over her in an investigating manner, as if she was nothing but a piece of meat to be inspected.

“Is this the little cat you told me about? Looks more like a mouse to me. Where did you find her, the drain?”

“Where did you come from, the brothel?”

The words were spat out before she realised it. Anger could be read from the Gemini’s face, and with two quick steps he stood in front of her, hand raised as if he was about to hit her. Kiffa shut her eyes and turned her face away, waiting for the pain.

That didn’t come. In stead, slender fingers grabbed her chin, forcing her to look the male in the eye. “The little mouse has fangs, hm? Better hold that tongue of yours, or use it for something better.” And with that, the Gemini forced his lips onto hers in a short but, to her, painful kiss.

“You don’t seem to experienced. How about I teach you~?”

Disgusting. This man… she did not like him at all. And the other, that had been doing nothing but standing there with an amused face- he was no better. Even if he did save her live.

How about he teached her? Like hell he would. Her actions would have consequences, probably. She didn’t care.

She spat in the blue-haired male’s face. He was shocked, immediately let go of her face to get a handkerchief, wiping the saliva from his spectacles and nose with a straight face. And the other man…

Was laughing. Not the soft chuckle he let out before, actually laughing. Was it… that funny? She had expected him to tell his subordinate to hit her, or something. But…

“Interesting one, don’t you think? Now, since she owes me her life, she’ll work for me from now on. I think she’ll prove to be… useful.”

The gemini wasn’t laughing at all. He looked as if he was about to protest, his cheeks even flushed slightly red at the embarrassment. How unexpected- that he’d be bothered by her rejection.

Even more unexpected was what she just heard. Work? For those people? Who- well, she didn’t even know who they were.

“Hey now wait just a-“

“You don’t really have anything to say about this, miss Kiffa. From now on, you’ll work for me. Gemini will give you a decent training, of course. He has raised many of our female assassins before, I’m sure he’ll do a great job, as always. You two seem to be getting along just fine.”

The teal-haired male nodded at Gemini, a sign that he- an her as well, probably- could leave. Gemini grabbed Kiffa’s arm and dragged her out. But not before saying; “You’ll owe me for this one, Libra.”

Libra.

Another strange name. The star signs, right? Libra- the Scales. Balance, justice- no wonder he was a leader. Libra. Her saviour. The man who owed her life.
She didn’t like him. At all.

i feel like writing something out so ok here it goes hurrr

-Run, run run!  The girl’s bare feet were covered in mud, water splashing up as her feet dragged her further in the streets, rain pouring down on her face. Her clothes were soaked, her feet slipping away ever time they hit the cold, wet ground. She’d be easy to find like this… too easy.

There was no one around at this time of the night, and definitely not in this weather.

- So this is how it’d end? A foolish mistake on her part. She should’ve known there was something fishy about the job. Who would’ve thought that she’d be used as a bait?

‘Half of the money first, the other half after you finished.’

A bitter smirk - how foolish she had been. Too eager to get the money - too eager at the thought of a warm place to stay for a couple of nights at least.

Half of it, huh? It would’ve been better if she’d have spent it all already. Now it was just useless.

Kiffa knew she wouldn’t be able to keep this up much longer. The blood that ran down on her face was getting cleansed away by the rain, but it wouldn’t heal her wounds. She noticed how her vision slowly got hazy, the pain in her arm fading - signs that she’d pass out soon.

Too early…

Desperate, she looked for a place to hide, a door, an alley they’d overlook, anything-

‘What’s this, Kiffa? You never put any value to your own life- not caring if you’d die or not, and now, trying so desperate to find a way out after all?’

Her own voice echoed through her mind. Exhausted, out of breath, the girl sunk to her knees in the cold rain. She, trying to survive?

‘Don’t fuck with me now Kiffa. Be glad your life’s over.’

A soft chuckle, barely audible, that soon turned into a loud, maddening laughter. Khiffa let herself fall flat on her back with arms spread, not even caring if they’d hear her crazy outburst. It was over. She could hear them- in the distance. The barking of dogs. Running footsteps over cold, harsh stone. She’d be found soon.

Her vision darkened, the sound of the rain fading away slowly. Grin still plastered upon her face, she closed her eyes- only to feel hot liquid running down her cheeks. Tears, she realised. Her hand desperately clutching onto the tiny ring she stole.

“I don’t want to die…”

Softly muttered words, all in vain- no one would hear her anyway.

Her eyes fluttered open once more before passing out, revealing an unfamiliar woman with turquise hair looking down on her, and then all turned to black.

Lounging was all he could do for now; lounge and wait for things to start. From what Kiffa had described Ara had been carried off kicking and screaming, which could only mean that everything she had been plotting had exploded. Finally standing he walked to various cupboards stocked with medical equipment and supplies.

He sighed. “Kiffa, find me some more gauze I’m running low and I can tell I will need it and don’t take so long this time. I don’t need you doing things at a snail’s pace. Also some sutures, all of mine seem to have gone missing.” As soon as the brunette left the room, the door flew open.

Turning around,  seeing a badly beaten Scorpio and a concerned Aries all he could do was motion Aries to place him on the small exam table. “Do I need to even asked what happened? Where were you hit and how hard?”

Scorpio sat down, sighing in pain and wincing. “Fuck…” somehow, even if they barely saw Libra around except for when they had healing matters, the man was… intimidating, somehow.

The blonde man swallowed, looking at the older Aries, to continuosly meet gazes with the girl that always was with Libra (as far as he had heard) and then Libra’s look.

“My shoulder… is broken, I think… also… a few kicks, Ara’s heels.” Scorpio looked down, drying away the blood from his lips before speaking. “Fuck fuck fuck we have to move quickly Aries she might had sent people after her-” Scorpio was starting to panic, no longer caring about the looks the others were giving him.

‘Snail’s pace?’

Kiffa clenched her fists, her cheeks red of frustration and embarrassment. Just what did he mean with that? In any other situation she would have given him a snarky reply- but this time his request was urgent.

“Yes, master.” She replied stiffly, then hurried to get the things he had requested. As if to prove that she truly wasn’t slow like he just said, she ran even faster than usual and found herself back within the minute.

And in the meantime, both Aries and Scorpio had arrived. Aries, she had met a couple of times. But the other… She had barely seen him around. He looked horrible. Broken shoulder, bruises and cuts al over his body… Not that she cared about his wounds. As long as it wasn’t Libra that got hurt, she’d care less.

“Here are the equipments, master-” She muttered at Libra, her voice a little husky from the running, then focused her attention on the blonde man in front of her.

He obviously felt uneasy in the presence of the other two. Ah, how amusing~ Scorpio would be great to hang out with, she decided instantly. Easy to annoy. Easy to embarrass.

Kiffa noticed how his gaze kept wandering to her - because he finds mine easier to withstand, she figured. Less intimidating. Well, she could give him that much. Unlike the other two, she was tiny, plain-looking… rather boring, actually. Intimidating definitely wasn’t a word that could be used to describe her. She returned his gaze indifferently, as if he were just a piece of furniture and not a man, making it obvious that she was not impressed by his wounds, or his appearance in general.

However, at his last words of panic a smile tugged on the corner of her lips, as if mocking him. Not that she truly did- Kiffa could somewhat understand his panic. She just enjoyed teasing other people a lot. It was… fun.

Her eyes wandered back to Libra now. If only I could tease him once, too… But that wouldn’t happen- if anything, he’d be the one to tease her.
